How long will the DJI Power 500 run a power tools (drill)?
Will the DJI Power 500 run a power tools (drill)?
Probably — but the startup surge runs close to the limit
A power tools (drill) can spike to roughly 2100W for a moment on startup, near the Power 500's 1000W surge rating. It usually works, but pairing it with other loads may trip the unit.
How we calculated this
We start from the DJI Power 500's 392 Wh of estimated usable energy at the outlet — its 512 Wh rating, derated for a safe depth of discharge and ~15% inverter loss — then divide by the power tools (drill)'s 700W draw:
392 Wh ÷ 700 W ≈ 0.6 hours
Heads up: a power tools (drill) is a motor/compressor load that spikes 2–3× on startup. The DJI Power 500's 1000W continuous / 1000W surge output should be checked against that startup spike.
Real-world runtime varies with temperature, cable losses, and how hard the appliance actually cycles. Treat this as a solid estimate, not a guarantee.
